It can cause corrosion to steel structural elements, concrete reinforcing and mechanical system components. It can cause wood to rot. It can cause floor adhesives to fail. It can also cause mold infestation. While not all instances of basement moisture infiltration need to be remedied, homeowners often want to correct the problem so they can make full use of their basement space.
