Connections and Details

Structural details are often ignored in residential construction, but they are important. Structures rarely fail because individual elements are not strong enough. Instead, details like connections, load concentrations and secondary forces are more often to blame. Poor detailing can result in elements failing to perform as designed. If your project makes use of unconventional construction like heavy beams and columns, a structural engineer can prepare details that allow those elements perform as expected.

Whether it is to assist the architect during design development or adapt to field conditions during construction, RJD Residential can design connections and other details for a variety of applications, including wood, structural steel and concrete construction, foundation elements and below-ground waterproofing.
